Augusta Missouri ...
In the heart of Missouri Wine Country ...

Just 20 miles from Chesterfield Missouri !

As you drive down scenic Highway 94 in St. Charles County, you'll begin a trip on one of Missouri's greatest treasures,
The Weinstrasse, (German for "road to the wineries").
The first stop along the way will be 'Sugar Creek Winery' , just outside the town of Defiance.  Ken and Becky Miller have created a unique wine tasting experience with beautiful views of the Missouri River Bottom area.
After your stop there, continue to drive on and the  flat areas give way to increasing elevations along the bluffs.
Next stop will be  'Montelle Winery' with unparalleled views of the Missouri River Valley.  Wonderful patios and picnic benches invite you to linger and sip on one of Montelles' award winning wines.   Augusta is just a bit further down the road.

Check into Augusta Lindenhof Bed and Breakfast before you begin exploring the town.  Augusta has two additional wineries within walking distance.
The well-known 'Mount Pleasant  Winery" with fabulous views of the river bottom valley is very popular.  You will find a huge tasting room, a gourmet cheese shop, and plenty of picnic areas.
'Augusta Winery' is just down the street from our bed and breakfast.  Small in size but great in wine producing, Augusta Winery has won many prestigious medals. It is a must for the wine connoisseur.

Augusta has long been known as the heart of Missouri wine country.  All through the year  offer various events.  Check the wineries
"calendar of events"...

Balducci's Winery and Vineyards is a few miles down Highway 94 and is the newest winery in the area.  Set back in a valley, they offer great wines as well as pizza, pasta and salads from their well-known St. Louis restaurants.

Blumenhof Winery waits 4 more miles up ahead to round out your visit to the Weinstrasse.  Very German in style you'll  feel as if you are in a Bavarian village as sounds of the German Bands (seasonal) gather people to the dance floor for a polka.

Check out the newest winery in the region...Chandler Hill.

If beer seems more to your liking, then you must not miss 'Augusta Brewing Company'.  Micro-brewed beers with unique and lively flavors will tease your taste-buds.  And you don't want to miss their delicious gourmet dinners that are served on Friday and Saturday nights.

The Annual
Plein Air Art Event

Each spring artists and art admirers from across the country are drawn to Missouri wine country for what has quickly become one of the Midwest's premier fine art happenings, known as the Augusta Plein Air Art Event. Artists gather daily, venturing out into the town and surrounding countryside to paint in the natural light (plein air) with the opportunity to enjoy one another's company while participating in workshops and special events. The beauty of the hills, many landscaped by the rolling vineyards, and the fruit they produce invite the palate to sample the award winning wines.
The event culminates in an art show and auction, presenting an opportunity to take home an original work of art.
